Mitch Tublin - Business Strategy Consultant

Were you working over the Fourth of July holiday weekend or did you relax? Did you at least enjoy one or more fireworks displays? One of the interesting aspects of the larger fireworks displays, which are set to music, is the build up and use of the fireworks display and the music to emotionally attach to the viewing audience.

It is not just a continuous pounding of loud shells. This would be exciting for a period of time and then become emotionally overwhelming. Instead there are mixtures of soft bright displays and louder rockets and exploding whistlers. The show is produced to smoothly transition the viewer. The show backs off and allows the display to be enjoyed by the audience. Then there is the buildup for the grand crescendo finale.

What does the production of a fireworks display have to do with my running a successful business? Read this week’s article to find out!

Fireworks Displays Teach You Important Secret to Business Success

The evolution of the larger fireworks displays means they now include timed fireworks working alongside music. Most of these shows begin with an inspiring patriotic tune and a fairly loud colorful display of fireworks. This is intended to grab everyone’s attention that, yes, the show has begun. Then what takes place?

There are softer displays utilizing more light and bright scenes than loud explosions. The producers understand their viewing audience and know their emotions must be brought along the path intentionally. There need to be periods of calm and then loud and bright displays woven in right afterwards. A constant shift from slow and bright, yet quiet – giving way to loud, colorful and chest thumping explosive.

For the business owner, the CEO, the decision maker, you must have some intentional down time. A period of time set aside to reflect, to regroup, to quiet the mind. You should not just continue on a constant path of work and a barrage of tasks. This would be similar to the fireworks display just pounding away with loud explosive shells endlessly. You will begin to lose sight of the longer term goals you had set for yourself and your business when you first started.

The perfect time for this intentional period of reflection and rejuvenation is in the summer. Specifically, the month of July is the perfect time frame. You should take a Friday or a Monday and create a four day weekend. Ban the use of any electronic gear during this time frame.

Just Be.

Yes, Just Be.

The human mind needs to have quiet time to regroup and then return to a more highly functioning state. This is a proven fact.

You should conduct this effort with intention. Who will you spend your downtime with? Fill your days with fun, excitement, possibly competition; just not work related items or thoughts. If absolutely necessary have a notepad (the paper kind) and a pen handy to jot down a thought. Then put these immediately off to the side to be referenced in a few days. You are cautioned not to make light of these instructions. It is as necessary to your success as is anything else you will endeavor to do for your business.

This is not easy to accomplish. The ability to conduct this type of environment will take effort. Your support network will need to respect what you are creating for yourself and your business. The efforts will pay off in huge dividends for you and your business.

Are you ready to create your time to regroup, recharge and get that extra boost? That extra incentive to move you into the right environment? If so, contact expert Executive
